This work highlights the use of animal parts in human heart surgery, animal rights in the field of science and Roet's own connection and understanding of herself as an ape within the animal kingdom. Science and love merge.
Lisa Roet in collaboration with Science animator drew Berry created a 9m half human (roets) Heart and half Gorilla Heart utilising MRI footage form both Roets Heart and that of a Gorillas form Cardiff University studies. Utlising Musion technology this large scale heart pumped on stage (like King Kong strapped to the stage) . Sound developed with musician Charlie Owen of Roets beating heart was slowed to create a trance like beat to which peiople danced into the early hours.
